Evolution of the production of milk

We analyze the evolution of production in the 10 top dairy basin of Argentina, starting in Cordoba with 37% is the main province in its supply of milk to the total volume general, then Santa Fe (34% of the domestic volume) and Buenos Aires with 23 %. Note that all ripped with productions superior to January 2022 to then go and fall.

The major drainage basins of CordobaVilla Maria (50% of the volume provincial) and Northeast (23%) are still negative output on 2022, averaging -1% 1st half of 2023 vs 2022.

In Santa Fe the basin Centre of higher contribution to the provincial production (86%) accumulates -2,2% below the 2022 in the first semester, the basin South (14% of the volume provincial) is +1.2% in about 2022.

In Buenos Aires the basin of the West (59% of the volume provincial) accumulates first half +1.5% on 2022, while Sea and Mountains (12% of the volume provincial) builds up +1.7 per cent on 2022, both basins with gathering normal silage maize by good rains during the cultivation. The 2 basins Supply (29% of the volume provincial) marked a fall from -3,9% on 1st semester of 2022.

We enter the second half of 2023, which we think will be the most challenging. In this period you will notice the lack of fiber due to the lower availability of silage maize and the depletion of megafardos. Winter crops planted with the hope of providing silage cover the bump in spring-summer, and are making good progress towards the East of the Humid Pampa (see infographic below), but not so to the West, affecting major watersheds dairy as West of Buenos Aires and the province of Córdoba as a whole. Begin to "stretch the silo of corn" will depend on the perception of winter crops.
