RATIONS 3.5
This program calculates the requirements, using a series of formulas developed by R. A. Milligan, L. E. Chase, C. J. Sniffen, and W. A. Knoblauch, Cornell University, USA. We maintain the same with the updates that present the model of the NRC. Some of them were adjusted by the author, to adapt them to the pastoral systems.
Tips for working with the program
1.- In the MAIN sheet set with the control, the CURRENT production of the group of cows (the more even the requirements of the group, the better result you'll get with the use of a program), and then selecting the food they are offering. Concentrates and silage are usually measured what ofertes and you can use the option “Loss of the mixer” to deduct the foods that you determined to go on the mixer with the (1).
2.- Once you have done the step (1) you'll notice that in the column % Req to the right are several items in red indicating to be in deficiency...but you need to put the consumption of grass. You're looking for a value up to which gives you the % of PB and TND in values close to 0%, at which point you'll know by performance animal what are likely to be rising out of the field (unless you have the data originated by courts).
3.-Once you have determined the intake of grass rodeo cows, can increase the level of production desired liters purpose of the diet and you'll see that the column " % Req re desconfigurarse with red...Then you'll be adding the pounds necessary ingredients selected to meet the requirements of the new production and get the diet necessary. The program calculates the number of litres free that emerged as a target of minimum are 18 lt/VO/d for the economic result positive.
