Analyzing the progress of the stratification in stock bovine total (apart from the cows and the categories of breeding this number can include males), published by SENASA, we observe that the drums to be closing out of the small scales of production (less than 500 head cattle total, we estimate that represent units with less than 200-250 milking cows).
The process of concentration (less dairy, more cows/farm and more milk /dairy farm ...farm=farm to the caribbean that we read) is a phenomenon that is repeated in the lecherias important in the world.
To analyze the drums CREA (approximately produce 10% of the milk in argentina) we have not observed advantages in the scale referred to economic efficiency. We understand that the pressure to leave the activity is accented on the smaller scales due to two critical factors:
1) Still achieving a reasonable return on the capital involved, the money collected may not be sufficient to meet the needs of the owners.
2) The need to increase production year after year to the effects of cover escalating costs -measured in litres of milk/ha and approximately +250 lts/ha Cow Total which represents a +2,5%, just to stay in the activity- (see chart below).
In the fields, more guys arrive faster the time in which you can not continue with the productive career without changing the system (...and get away from that 60% of production of own food). In the next 10 years, the producer must achieve an increase in production of other 25% if you intend to continue as it is until now. This is undoubtedly the meaning of the famous INTENSIFICACION that we all unravel.
