Without having departed yet from the historical crisis in which is immersed the dairy sector, especially affecting the primary production that turns out to be the weakest link, so we know their impact on the milk production at the national level.
The Undersecretariat of the Dairy industry of the Ministry of Agro-industry, national, began to publish the long-awaited production of milk generated with the new sampling system of the Integrated System of Management of the Dairy Argentina (SIGLeA), linking data from AFIP, SENASA and MINAGRI. The importance of this new show is that it manages the data of 400 industries, and approximately 8,500 dairy farms in Argentina, a number far superior to the old sample of 18 companies that had been using.
Today we know that the production of the year 2015, 12.061 million litres, was a historical record. Also, finally, the crisis generated a total fall of the order of -16,6% between 2016 and 2017, showing a change in the trend in the first months of 2018, where we observe for the first 8 months, a growth of +6.1% (see figure “milk Production in Argentina”). The production started at the beginning of the year showing +9% over 2017, and then go by copying the curve 2017 that you copy spring 2017, the year would end with a +5.6 per cent on 2017:
